Young Furzedown

Your safety. Your voice. Your neighbourhood.

A straightforward space for younger residents to find safety advice, understand how to report concerns and tell the Panel what would make Furzedown feel safer.

Quick safety help

If something happens, use the right route.

Young people do not have to deal with a safety concern alone. If you are unsure, speak to a parent, carer, teacher, youth worker or another trusted adult.

Immediate dangerIf you or someone else is in danger, or a crime is happening now, call 999.
Non-emergency crimeReport non-emergency crime through 101 or the Metropolitan Police online service.
Recurring local concernFor wider issues such as repeated unsafe locations or recurring community concerns, tell the Panel.

Could Furzedown create an official Young Safe Spaces network?

Longer term, the Panel could work with willing shops, pharmacies, community venues, churches and youth organisations so participating locations are clearly identified and staff know what to do when a young person asks for help.

Youth Safety Pulse

What does Furzedown feel like for young people?

A short anonymous poll helps the Panel understand young people's experiences between meetings. It does not ask for your name, email or exact address.

September Youth Safety Pulse

Five quick anonymous questions. Open the poll when you are ready.

Open Youth Safety Pulse

Choose the answer that feels closest to your experience.

1. How safe do you usually feel when you are out in Furzedown without an adult?
2. When are you most likely to feel unsafe?
3. What worries young people most in Furzedown at the moment?
4. If something happened that made you feel unsafe, would you know who to tell or where to get help?
5. What would make young people feel safer in Furzedown?
Do not use this poll to report an incident or safeguarding concern. It is for anonymous themes only. If you need help now, use the reporting routes above or speak to a trusted adult.
Youth voice

Young people should be heard too.

Young residents can tell us where they feel safe or unsafe, what makes journeys to school or local spaces difficult, and what would improve their sense of safety.

Send a youth voice message

Please do not send sensitive safeguarding details by ordinary email. Speak to a trusted adult or use emergency services where needed.
