Furzedown Safer Neighbourhood Panel
Safety Advice & Reporting
Know who to contact, how to report an issue and what practical steps can help protect you, your family and your property.

Practical information residents can use.
Start with the newsletter's scam warnings, then use this space for future burglary, vehicle, phone-snatching, online-fraud and personal-safety advice.
Scams & Fraud
Read our expanded guide to phishing, bank and police impersonation, tech-support scams, suspicious texts and emails, remote-access warnings, reporting routes and trusted support contacts.
Protect Your Mobile Phone
Set up theft protection, biometrics, tracking and backups before anything happens, and know what to do immediately if your phone is stolen.
Crash-for-cash
Do not pay cash or share bank details. Record vehicle details and witnesses, keep dashcam footage and contact your insurer promptly.
Police / bank impersonation
Police and banks will never ask for your PIN or passwords, tell you to withdraw cash, or send a courier to collect cards or valuables.
Council Tax / refund messages
Be suspicious of requests for card or bank details, unexpected refund claims or offers to reduce arrears for a fee.
Vehicle security
Remove valuables from view, lock the vehicle, check doors are secure and report suspicious activity through the correct police route.
Phone & street robbery
Stay aware around roads and stations, avoid displaying devices unnecessarily, and report incidents promptly so patterns can be identified.
Home security
Use good lighting, secure doors and windows, and build neighbour-to-neighbour communication through local Watch schemes.
